The NLC advises that the NT government’s Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics will close Cahill’s Crossing at the request of Traditional Owners effective at sunrise Friday 2 July 2021.

Traditional Owners concerned about the COVID-19 compliance breach in Jabiru have acted swiftly and requested the NLC and the NT government to close Cahill’s Crossing until further notice.

Consistent with previous closures, access will be granted to food, fuel transport and emergency services, with access coordinated by the relevant NT government agencies and the NLC.

All permits within the NLC region remain suspended until 1pm Friday 2 July 2021, or until further notice, with the exception of essential services and residents in some circumstances

People intending to visit Aboriginal Land are requested to contact the appropriate NLC Regional Office at least 24 hours before you plan to travel.

Contact details for NLC Regional Offices are available on the contacts page.

The NT Government has established a 24-hour hotline to provide information about the lockdown arrangements: 1800 193 111.
